Genisy Training Modules

How to use training modules

These Genisys training modules are to be followed along with your Genisys turned on as an interactive training class. To use these modules along with your Genisys, be sure to select the demo soft key when performing the vehicle data entry. The power point slide in the Genisys training module will tell you what action to take on your Genisys so that you may obtain a desired result. To follow along, at each page of the power point, push the requested button on your Genisys. The Genisys display will then change to reflect the next page of the power point training class.

My high school English teacher Mr. Sterling always told me, "Be direct and to the point. Less is more." This came to light again last week while diagnosing a hard start, no start, power loss problem on a 1999 Chevrolet K1500 with the 5.7L (R) engine.

  • Genisys Performance Gas Diagnostics
Today, OBD II has been with us for over 10 years, and looks to be the automotive electronic system of choicae for many years to come. Of course, eventually the OEM’s, responding to ever-tightening government emission standards, will develop a new system.

  • Driveability Diagnostics, OBD I & II
Since the dawn of on-board diagnostics (OBD) in motor vehicles, the process of diagnosing driveability problems are the same as always, and very different, too. When OBD I evolved into OBD II in 1996, the electronic part of diagnosing driveability problems became a little easier. This is because the electronic network on OBD II vehicles became much more comprehensive and changed almost all mechanical functions that controlled the powertrain into electro/mechanical functions.
